"We have been contacting everyday looking for the elect. That is what we were told to do by the Zone Leaders and President Senior. We have a mission goal to get two baptisms in the month of March and we were getting prepared this last week. We had so much to do. We have this thing called better balanced. To be balanced we need to have 2 people at church, 2 new investigators, 2 daters, and 10 lessons with a member or RC/LA. That was really hard to get. Better balanced is 3 people at church, 3 new investigators, 3 daters, and 12 lessons with a member or RC/LA. This makes us super busy! In order to reach our goal this week, we had to find and teach 4 lessons everyday. In order for it to count as a lesson, we have to teach doctrine, extend a commitment and have a way to contact them. Really, really hard to do with random people on the street, but it is fun sometimes when you find those people who are prepared. I will make sure I do the power stance every time I go contacting. haha Super busy week!"
"As busy as we were, we still did not get balanced or better balanced this week. It wasn't really our fault, but it was still disappointing. All our appointments quit on us and the people that said they were going to go to church, never showed up. I'm not giving up on them though. We can do this! We have so much faith and hope to help us out. It's possible! We keep on saying that Korat is about to explode! We are super busy and so tired that we literally planned to stay home and sleep for p-day to prepare for another busy week. haha"
"Some cool things that happened this week is we went to teach a referral that we got from some members. The kid is 15 years old and is way cool. He wants to study and learn so much. We had him show up to a baby shower that we were singing at. We were commanded by the Relief Society President to sing in English. haha I don't think that anyone knew what we were saying because even I forgot the words to "Families Can Be Together Forever". I am getting worse and worse at English. haha"
"Elder Quinn had his first District Meeting and he did awesome! We talked about temples, which is the mission vision here. We listened to a Mormon message about temples by President Monson. He said that temples are built by faith and fasting and sanctified by sacrifice and service. We talked about sacrifice and Elder Quinn asked me about what I thought about a temple in Thailand. I shared how strongly I felt about it. After he said, "Wow, you all want it even more than I do." It was a really spiritual and awesome meeting."
"I was also assigned as the English teacher in the District. I am now in charge, muahhahahaha! It's really hard because no one has given us lessons to teach by, so we have to make it up ourselves. I think I like it better this way. I really enjoy leading and teaching English class and don't really know why I do? haha"
"We had activities like the Book of Mormon class for RC/LA and investigators, but only a couple members came and one investigator. It just turned into kind of a lesson for the investigator. Hopefully next time, we will have more people show up. The other activity was family night with all the kids. We do this for the younger investigators, so they can come and make friends. We played Werewolf! It was so fun and I killed everyone! hahahaha But then they just started killing me off right away and I decided to be the narrator. That game was a big success for sure. Then we had the baby shower."
"I made some drunk people really mad at me. They asked me to have a drink and I said, "No, are you crazy? That will make my body feel terrible." They were all real quiet and then I asked, "Why would you drink if it just destroys your body? You drink and then you get drunk and then you fall over and forget everything that you do! That is just unhealthy and really bad for you." Then one of them got up and started to get angry at me and said that I spoke so rudely and that they were adults and I needed to respect them. They were all clearly drunk. It was weird because normally I never would have said anything. Over the last couple months, I have gotten a lot bolder and I'm not afraid to say what I believe. It just comes out and is cool, but can be dangerous at the same time. I need to control it, so I won't become overbearing."
"At church this week, there were some unruly kids that don't know when to stop and be quiet. Elder Quinn was giving an interview and I stood outside the door for support. When I say support, I actually mean, I was the bodyguard. The kids kept trying to get in the room and were yelling and going through all the rooms. I was trying to keep 4 kids from disturbing the interview. It was exhausting! Afterwards, the Branch President asked us to help with tithing and a kid about 13 years old just walks in. I'd already had it with this kid from earlier. Brother Somchay was trying to get this kid out, but he is a really nice guy and doesn't get mad, so the kid wasn't listening to him. Finally I was like, ok that's enough! I picked the kid up and literally threw him out of the room and locked the door. He was banging on the door and I yelled, "LEAVE!" in Thai, and he left. I was so tired of him and everyone was so relieved after that. haha"
"Sunday we went to see a LA who is living in a tough situation. She lives in a crappy made tree house. It has two platforms. The higher platform has a tent and that is it. She also has an abusive boyfriend that lives with her and hates the church. She can't go to her family because they kicked her out because of the boyfriend. We were just about to pray when her boyfriend came home and she got so scared. She said the prayer so quietly so that he wouldn't hear. I hope she is ok. We don't know what to do to help her. We will talk to the Branch President and see what happens."
"Well, that was my week. Super busy and I'm super tired, which means I'm working hard and doing what I need to. Love you all!"
